Developmental Therapy

The goal of developmental therapy is to help children with learning difficulties connect ideas and develop a logical understanding of the world. Programs are designed to assist children with severe emotional and social developmental delay. Developmental therapy can benefit but is not limited to children with autism spectrum disorders.

Developmental therapy promotes the natural progression of play skills and environmental and social interaction through the integration of the following functions:

  • Sensory organization/regulation
  • Cognition
  • Language
  • Gross motor movement
  • Fine motor movement
  • Social-emotional awareness
  • Self-help skills

The Growing Together Therapy Center can customize a one-of-a-kind Developmental Therapy course which takes into account your child's personal needs, abilities and goals. For children who are lacking in social skills and the ability to relate to others, we work closely with parents to document their behavior and progress both here in the therapy center and at home.

Contact us for an evaulation of your child's development and the types of therapy he or she may need.
